Preparação do Conselho Europeu (13-14 de dezembro de 2012) (debate) (em inglês)
Ana Gomes (S&D ). - Madam President, could Mr Barroso explain why the Troika overseeing the adjustment programme in Portugal does not say a word as it sees the Portuguese Government legalise tax evasion, tax fraud and money laundering by individuals, corporations and banks, who are identified stacking more than EUR 4 billion in Switzerland alone, by allowing them to pay an indecently low tax of 7.5 % and not having to repatriate the assets, not having to disclose the possible criminal origin of such assets and, on top of all, outrageously guaranteeing them the protection of secrecy? Where is the justice, the equality, the fairness, of which President Barroso talked today but which European citizens, suffering with unemployment and poverty as a result of the crisis, do not at all see the EU put into action?
